Sharing problems through a human connection is the first line of defence in supporting stronger mental health. However, it’s often hard to take time out from the hectic pace of everyday life and pluck up the courage to tell someone how we’re really feeling.
That’s why we’re supporting Isuzu UK with their new mental wellbeing campaign, encouraging everyone to open up, side by side. Sitting side by side gives you a chance to talk things through in confidence and express your feelings without direct eye contact, and where better to unlock our feelings than in the comfort of a vehicle sat next to each other.
We’re not alone.
Most of us have had one of the most important conversations of our lives in a vehicle – in fact 1 In 8 Brits say that they would actively choose the safe space of a vehicle for a difficult talk.* Of course, we don’t need four wheels for an open discussion about our struggles or concerns. We could choose to have a chat at a football match, on the bus, or on a park bench while out walking the dog. Whatever we’re going through, sharing real life experiences side by side is a positive and simple way to get everything off our chest and even has the potential to save lives.
