The new Isuzu D-Max 2.2 has arrived at Vale Motors in Wincanton, bringing increased performance, improved efficiency and enhanced comfort to one of the UK’s most respected pick-ups.
Designed to work hard without compromising on everyday usability, the latest D-Max introduces Isuzu’s new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, delivering 400Nm of torque, more responsive performance and the ability to carry a payload of more than one tonne and tow up to 3.5 tonnes.
For businesses and drivers who need a vehicle capable of tackling demanding conditions, the D-Max continues to offer the rugged engineering and reliability for which Isuzu is renowned.
The new engine is Euro 6 compliant and has been developed to improve both performance and fuel efficiency. For those looking for greater convenience on the road, an eight-speed automatic transmission is also available.
Off-road capability remains at the heart of the D-Max. All models feature Rough Terrain Mode, an electronic traction control system designed to maximise torque transfer and driveability in challenging conditions. With 210mm of ground clearance and an 800mm wading depth, the D-Max is equipped to handle everything from muddy construction sites and agricultural tracks to more demanding off-road conditions.
According to Ean Jones, Isuzu Specialist at Vale Motors, the latest D-Max represents a significant step forward for customers who need genuine working capability from their vehicle.
“The D-Max has always had a very loyal following because customers know they can depend on it to get the job done. The new 2.2 takes that capability and moves it forward, with more responsive performance, improved efficiency and a much more refined driving experience. It’s still a proper working pick-up, but it’s also a vehicle that’s extremely comfortable to live with every day.”
The updated D-Max also benefits from a fresh exterior design, including a redesigned front grille, new Bi-LED headlights and revised front fog lamp bezels. Upgraded alloy wheels are paired with Dunlop low-rolling-resistance tyres, helping to improve efficiency while maintaining grip in wet conditions.
Safety and visibility have also been enhanced, with new surround-view cameras using digital cameras positioned around the vehicle to give drivers a clearer view of their surroundings.
Inside, the D-Max offers a more refined environment, with heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a leather telescopic steering wheel and an eight-way electrically adjustable driver's seat. Depending on specification, customers can choose from high-grade cloth or leather upholstery.
Technology is also central to the new D-Max, with wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ available through the multifunction colour touchscreen, alongside upgraded audio and connectivity features.
Ean added:
“Whether someone is using their D-Max every day for work, towing equipment, travelling off-road or simply wants a dependable 4x4 for family life, there is a model to suit them. The V-Cross in particular gives you that combination of serious capability and premium comfort, while the working models remain incredibly practical.”
