The 100% electric Nissan LEAF shows what can happen when you believe anything is possible. Developed with game-changing technology that produces zero emissions while driving, it re-writes the rules on car driving and ownership. It’s designed for anyone who believes that their choices can truly make a difference.
Plug In Car Grant
£4,500 Government Handouts
The UK Government offers an incentive for buyers of Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles. This grant covers up to 35% of the value of the car, to a maximum of either £2,500 or £4,500 depending on the model. This is automatically deducted from the price of your car. The scheme heavily favours buyers of 100% electric vehicles over plug-in hybrids, which combine traditional combustion engines and fuels with electric motors and battery technology. The 100% electric LEAF hatchback qualifies for the maximum £4,500 discount, while plug-in hybrids will only receive £2,500.***
London Congestion Charge
Qualify for 100% Discount
Cars that are registered with the DVLA and have a fuel type of 'electric', like the Nissan LEAF, do not need to pay the London Congestion Charge, while many other vehicles will be paying the full £11.50 per day. For somebody living outside the congestion zone but driving into it five days a week, each week of the year, this could mean an annual saving of over £2,500.
To benefit from the discount, LEAF owners must register a customer account with TFL and set-up Auto Pay (£10 per vehicle per year).
